I've been riding horses my whole life, and love seeing new country from the back of a horse. I used to travel and live in scenic places where I could make ends meet as a trail guide like South Africa and Puerto Rico. I first came to Wyoming in 2016 and fell in love with the country. Now I'm here 7 months of the year working as an adaptive riding instructor, horse trailer bar owner, and occasional colt starter and trail guide when time allows. I go on the road in fall and winter to escape the cold, help start colts and learn new techniques to use on problem horses, with my mentor, Wylene Wilson. Itchy feet are currently pointing me to find some horse work in Argentina, Australia or New Zealand once the snow starts falling in Wyoming.
That’s Babe
I’m a sucker for Ranch Dogs. Especially when they look like this one. All she wanted was to round up the horses on the ranch. She ran underneath them nipping at their ankles getting them to move. I’ll admit I was a little nervous but Sarah didn’t seem to mind because this was normal, apparently.
What you don’t see.
It was SO windy, rainy, and cold. I’m big proponent that bad weather creates the best images, but it doesn’t make handling a 48” octabox any easier.
Koka
They say in the TV and Film industry that children and horses are the hardest to work with. I’d have to agree! Although, this beauty was incredibly patient with me and the lights didn’t affect her in the least.
The coral horses on the other hand were a different story.
